About

Our Faculty of Communication started its education in 1993 with the Department of Public Relations and Publicity. In 1994, the Department of Journalism, in 1997 the Department of Radio-Television and Cinema, and in 2011 the Department of Advertising were established. As of today, these four departments continue their normal and secondary education. Our Faculty of Communication attaches great importance to practical studies as well as theoretical education in accordance with the requirements of the age and the sector. Students increase their knowledge, skills and equipment with various application units within our faculty. Turkey's first and only television broadcasting 24 hours a day, University Television ÜNTV, Radio University, Advertising Workshop, Selçuk İletişim Newspaper, Suha ARIN Short Film Workshop, Photography Laboratory and Public Opinion Research Unit are the main application units of our faculty.

 

Mission :

The mission of our faculty is to further develop its position as a nationally recognized distinguished education, research and practice institution and to ensure that it has a voice in all developments and changes in the field of communication. The main mission of our faculty is to carry out theoretical and applied research that will be accepted by the national and international scientific world, to provide a scientific environment conducive to the training of future communicators, to produce graduates who are qualified, ethical and committed to social values that the communication sector needs, to raise individuals who have the qualifications suitable for the needs of the communication sector in a global competitive environment, who can easily access, produce and share information, and who have the ability to make appropriate and correct decisions. On the other hand, due to its location in the province, our faculty has also undertaken a mission to improve the quality of the local communication sector.

 

Vision:

Our main vision is to be a faculty that provides public relations, advertising, journalism, radio, television and cinema education at international standards, educates students who are contemporary, democratic, committed to national values, open to innovations, researching and questioning in a world where globalization and communication are becoming increasingly important.
