Purpose: The aim is to teach the basic principles of oncology, ionizing radiation, biological effects of radiation and radiation oncology to faculty of medicine students.

Vision: Our vision is to educate physicians, who know the importance of radiotherapy in malignant and some benign diseases, the indications of radiation treatment, the early and late side effects of radiotherapy, and the interaction of ionizing radiation with other cancer treatments at international standards.

Mission: To integrate the radiation oncology courses to basic and clinical oncology education in a multidisciplinary manner

Program Language: Turkish

Program Description: Informing the medical faculty students about Radiation Oncology through follow-up of patients, monitoring of applied procedures (simulation, set-up, brachytherapy etc.), outpatient follow-up, theoretical lecture presentations, source books

Admissions Requirements: The internship is in the 4th and 5th grades of the Faculty of Medicine. The terms of admission and registration in the Faculty of Medicine are as follows: For Turkish students: According to the regulations of Higher Education Council (determined by YÖK), students are accepted to this program by the central exam system called ÖSYS. The students are placed in the related programs by ÖSYS according to the points they get from this exam after reporting the program preferences they want to study. For foreign Students: The candidates who get acceptable scores according to the examinations which are internationally recognized such as SAT I, ACT, GCE etc, or who get acceptable scores in examinations for foreign nationals held in universities in Turkey under the guidelines available regarding the student exam.

Recognition of Prior Learning: Successfully complete class 3

Graduation Requirements: Absence of absenteeism and achieving exams

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: In the course of the internship, a report is completed for all students, evaluating the activities during the internship and bed side performances. At the end of the internship, the results of the theoretical examination and structured oral exams are taken together with the results of the report.

Employment Opportunities: All graduates of the medical school have business guarantees due to the State Service Obligation.
