Purpose: It is aimed to educate qualified technical staff who internalized the knowledges about the concepts and principles of construction in order to form new tems that sector needs, desing projects, productions that accordance with the relevant standards and regulations of the earthquake. The basic purpose of this department is to train staffs who can control and provide the products that produced according to the production techniques in construction sector and be able to work in public and private construction sector.

Vision: Our vision is to educate technical staff who has efficient knowledge on Maths, science and construction field, able to comment and evaluate the data by using the basic knowledge and ss gained from the school, able to see the problems, make plan and projects and give solution proposals, able to determine and use the required techniques and equipment efficiently, able to get responsibility in team work, make efficient communication, having enough foreign language to follow the innovations in construction field. In addition, raise the staff who are respectful to the historical and social values of his society, have global, social and professional ethics-consciousness, awareness of the need for lifelong learning and self-renewing and subsequent developments in science and technology, have the consciousness and knowledge of occupational safety, occupational health and environmental protection awareness, able to follow clerical work in the public sector, and related to all kinds of construction works on site the construction site, have the ability to control applications.

Mission: The mision of this department is to educate the staff who have the knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences and areas with adequate infrastructure related issues, can draw in technical bureau, ability to control construction phases of building project and perform necessary calculations, able to use basic information technology effectively, able to perform computerized drawing.

Program Description: Our department consists of two programs which are Construction Technology and Building Inspection. The aim of our department is primarily to educate technician who work in construction of buildings, transport (road, rail, port), and construction of water structures (irrigation-drainage, water supply and waste water plants, dams, etc.) and building inspection offices. Associate training program consists of 2 years and consists of four semesters. Education is provided in semester courses, each semester is 15 weeks and total of at least 60 weeks. Each student has to complete the internship for 30 workdays to graduate. All construction sub-branches cover the basic science and maths courses and professional courses covering social that implemented in curriculum. Workshop and laboratory facilities are available theoretical knowledge in the educational process by supporting the elements.

Admissions Requirements: The results of Transition to Higher Education Examination (YGS) made by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) are used on admission. Students who graduated from high schools who choose one of the programmes according to their grades taken from the YGS (Undergraduate Enterance Exam) may become a university student if they are placed by OSYM.

Recognition of Prior Learning: Basic secondary education, maths, science, and social information on the basis of information learned in professional fields have been accepted in construction-related courses. In addition, students enrolled in the university, the earlier they are attending the courses they had managed to request the recognition of higher education institutions. For this reason, a petition to the training and course contents of their registration must submit the relevant department in the first week of the year.

Graduation Requirements: Participants are required to complete all the courses corresponding to 120 ACTS in total, which are available in the Construction programme, and also to complete the internship for (minimum) 30 workdays to graduate.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: In accordance with the Education and Exam Regulation of Selçuk University, receiving pass grade from intermediate and general exams, homework, projects and vocational applications subject to the content of each course.

Employment Opportunities: Graduated students can task with the title of Technician in accordance with the published in Official Gazette 24491 dated 12.08.2001 "Building Inspection Code of Practice" in compliance of the management of the architects and engineers and they can get duty from the companies which administrate and make projects prepared under the detail and accuracy of the accounts and documents of the beneficiaries, the existence of the case record companies. They can also work in official institutions, private architectural and engineering firms with offices ready-mix concrete, construction work in offices, laboratories, and building Inspection offices.

Jump to Top Degree Programs: Construcion department graduates can do vertical transfer to undergraduate programmes of civil engineering, architecture and Building desing education if they succeed in the Vertical Transfer Exam performed by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).
