The "Young people are becoming entrepreneurs" event was organized in cooperation with Selçuk University Faculty of Technology and Konya Teknokent in order to increase the entrepreneurial qualities of the students.
The program held at Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center was attended by Selçuk University Technology Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Şakir Taşdemir, academicians and students. Speaking at the event "Young people are becoming entrepreneurs", which was organized to increase the entrepreneurship qualities of the students who took the Entrepreneurship and Project Management course in the 4th grade, Konya Teknokent Deputy General Manager Ahmet Rıza Balım said, "It is necessary to work hard and be persistent in order to be an entrepreneur because we are trying to make room for ourselves in a field with thousands of entrepreneurs. We need to develop ourselves very well and pursue our own ideas. Everyone can start a new business, but the important thing is that that business is permanent and that it can grow.”
“YOU CAN'T BE AN ENTREPRENEUR WITHOUT TAKING RISK”
Emphasizing that the most important resource of an entrepreneur is capital, Ahmet Rıza Balım said, “One cannot become an entrepreneur without taking risks. By working, we can reduce these risks and move towards success. If you have a good business idea, there are venture capital funds, investor funds to find the capital. When we go with a good job plan, the probability of getting a response is very high. The entrepreneur must be dynamic. You don't need to go to a good school to be successful. I've seen a lot of people who went to senior school but didn't succeed because they were risk-averse, fond of comfort, falling into existing stereotypes. We see that those who are successful are the ones who observe their surroundings well. The biggest mistake made is to produce what no one wants, not to test whether people want the solution we came up with.”
