Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST 2022, to which more than 600 thousand contestants from 107 countries applied, ended with an award ceremony. Eight teams represented Selçuk University, one of the stakeholders of TEKNOFEST, in Samsun. 6 of the teams were entitled to receive 10 awards in different categories. Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy congratulated the students and advisors.
The award ceremony of TEKNOFEST Black Sea was held at Samsun Çarşamba Airport under the management of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also attended the ceremony.
OVER 154 THOUSAND TEAMS COMPETE
Technology, science, aviation-flight shows, exhibitions, summits, workshops, stage shows, concerts and events were held at TEKNOFEST Black Sea, which was opened on August 30. Bayraktar Akıncı, Bayraktar TB2, unmanned combat vehicles, local Atak helicopters, F-16 aircraft of the Turkish Armed Forces and the magnificent aerobatic flights of SOLOTÜRK and Turkish Stars were also performed at the festival. Selcuk University, which participated in the TEKNOFEST 2022 final, which accepted applications from 81 provinces and 107 different countries with over 154 thousand teams and 600 thousand competitors, with 8 teams, deserved 10 awards in different categories.
SELÇUK UNIVERSITY WINS 10 AWARDS
In TEKNOFEST 2022, the SU Capsule Hyperloop Team in the "Hyperloop Development Category" under the consultancy of Enes Yücel and the Mint & Lemon Team in the "Turkish Natural Language Processing Free Category" under the consultancy of Dr. Instructor Murat Köklü from the Faculty of Technology won the first prize. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented the awards to both teams. MYS Sancak Team consulted by Dr. Instructor Hakan Terzioğlu from the Faculty of Technology received the "Visual Design Award" in the "Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races Electromobile Category."
In addition, in the International Free Duty UAV Competition, MYS Tuygun Team won the "Silver Performance Award" with its project called "Cankurtaran UAV" under the consultancy Dr. Instructor Hakan Terzioğlu, while SU Kapsül The Guardians of Heart Team consulted by Prof. Dr. İnci Kara from the Faculty of medicine came second in the category of "Technology Contest for the Benefit of Humanity, Health and First Aid". Moreover, the SU Capsule Hyperloop Team, under the consultancy of Lecturer Enes Yücel from the Faculty of Technology, received the "Technical Design Report Award" and the "Technology Display Award" in the "Hyperloop Development Category". From the Faculty of Technology, Dr. Instructor MYS Sancak Team, supervised by its member Hakan Terzioğlu, won the "Promotion and Dissemination Award" in the Hydromobile category of the Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races. The Mint & Lemon Team, supervised by its member Dr.Murat Köklü from the Faculty of Technology won the "Best Presentation Award" in the "Turkish Natural Language Processing Free Category". Finally, the BulaNut Team was also deemed worthy of the "Incentive Award" in the "Food and Agriculture Category".
“OUR YOUTH ARE VERY VALUABLE TO US”
Congratulating the teams that won the award at TEKNOFEST 2022 and those that qualified for the finals, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, “The 'National Technology Move' and TEKNOFEST, the roadmap drawn by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to achieve his 2023 goals, also pave the way for our youth, who will be the architects of a bright Turkiye. As Selcuk University, we have mobilized all our resources for our students, academicians and scientific projects. We support projects that broaden the horizons of our youth, guide them, and contribute to their better preparation for the future because our young people are very precious to us. We must always be with them so that Turkiye can remain strong forever.”
