The aim of the course is to become a department that contributes to the production of knowledge through theoretical and practical research in the field of basic education, examines the educational problems of the society, directs the determination of educational policies and presents the acquired knowledge to the sharing of public and private institutions, non-governmental organizations and individuals at both national and international level.
Sensitive to people, society and nature; understand the role and role of himself and his profession in social and educational development; gained professional competence and ethical responsibility; perceiving continuous development as a way of life; adopted scientific thinking and working style; aware of national and spiritual values, considering public benefits; to educate individuals who are open to interdisciplinary approach, sharing knowledge, taking the academic criteria in their evaluations as basis, and presenting their production in the fields of research, education and service for the benefit of the society.
The aim of this course is to enable individuals to develop positive attitudes towards teaching profession and to acquire the theoretical, practical knowledge and skills required in the relevant field education. It is aimed to become a prospective teacher who is intertwined with the society, can communicate effectively, learn lifelong, at the same time follow the agenda, be aware of the problems of the country, investigate, question, think critically, are sensitive to the environment and have developed problem solving skills.
The Basic Education Department was opened in 1997-1998 academic year within the scope of the reorganization of teacher training programs of the Higher Education Institution, which emerged after the transition to eight years of compulsory uninterrupted education. With this regulation, it is aimed to meet the teachers' needs in all branches of primary education system. After the restructuring of the faculties of education in 2016, our department became the Basic Education Department. The Department of Basic Education consists of two main departments: Preschool Education and Classroom Education. In these departments, teachers are trained in the first level of primary education. Basic Education is the first stage of the learning-teaching process and the characteristics of the teachers involved in this process affect the future learning-teaching process.

Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish higher education institutions, vertical, horizontal and transitions within the university, "Higher Education Institutions' Associate Degree and Undergraduate Level Programs Between the Transfer, Double Major, Minor Branch and Inter-Institution Credit Transfer Principles Regarding ". The process of recognition of non-formal learning outside of Turkey-based certification based on experience or formal education institutions is at an early stage. Therefore, recognition of prior learning has not been fully initiated.

Our graduates can be academicians by taking graduate education in addition to teaching in public and private schools of the Ministry of National Education.
It is possible to do master's and doctorate in related institutes.
