Purpose: The aim of the Veterinary Virology Second Cycle Degree Programme is not only to prepare qualified and wise graduates according to the needs of our country but also to increase the number of teaching staff and specialists that are the needs of the universities.

Program Description: Master (Vet virology)

Admissions Requirements: Students with a first cycle degree from Faculties of Veterinary, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Biology and Human Health Sciences are accepted to Veterinary Virology Second Cycle Degree Program

Recognition of Prior Learning: In transfer from other educational institutions, courses must be adaptable and/or compatible with our courses. Also, the success of the students are considered by the Commitee of The Department.

Graduation Requirements: The students graduate graduate from Veterinary Virology Second Cycle Degree Programme are to complete 120 ECTS credit hours including at least seven courses the credit of which is above 21 National Credits, a seminar and thesis study.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Examinations are composed of one mid-term and one final exam. In order a student to take the final exam, s/he should attend at least 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of applied and laboratory studies. The examinations can be in written form, oral form, written-application form, oral-application form or project form. The course grade is calculated by adding 40% of mid-term grade to the 60% of the final exam. To be accepted as successful from the course, the second cycle degree students should get at least 70(CC) out of 100. The final exam results should be 70 (CC) in order to pass the course.

Employment Opportunities: At the end of Veterinary Virology Second Cycle Degree Programme, the students become specialist in Department of Virology and they can work in official (Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Institutes of Veterinary Control and Research), universities (Veterinary Faculties and Animal High Schools) or private sectors (Veterinary Clinics, Industries of Pharmacology and Feed Company).
