Purpose: Our department aims our graduates to be educated as industrial engineers who are equipped with knowledge and practising abilities which are necessary for being able to work in international level,who are able to take high level decisions, and who have ethical and social responsibility consciousness.

Vision: To be an ever-growing and pioneer department which follows the guidance of well accepted modern education values with its well-conceived undergraduate and graduate programs among the industrial engineering departments in Turkey. To provide a type of education that develops investigative aspects of students toward implementation and research. To be a continuously d department in the light of new developments in the world.

Mission: To carry out scientific studies to respond sufficiently to national and international needs and to train enterprising industrial engineers equipped with the ss necessary for tems approach, teamwork, leadership, critical and analytical thinking and with the awareness of professional ethics and social and environmental consciousness. To train leader industrial engineers that will contribute to the national economy by leading the organizations that they work to operate more efficiently at lower costs. To improve industry by establishing a corporation between industrial engineering and the industry. To train industrial engineers with the ability to work in interdisciplinary studies who love and protect their profession and who are also in solidarity with other related professions. To train trustworthy industrial engineers who are able to compete in national and international level.

Program Description: Selçuk University Industrial Engineering Department, founded in 1992, graduated its first graduates in 1996. Undergraduate Program with Thesis was offered in autumn term in 1997 and Second Education Non-Thesis Master Program was offered in autumn term in 2003. There are 3 main departments currently under the scope of Industrial Engineering Department: Industrial Engineering, Operation Research and Ergonomics. The language of instruction is Turkish however, the 30 percent of courses are lectured in English. The courses in Industrial Engineering Program in Selcuk University include theoretical and practical contents. The courses which provide only theoretical parts of content are also available. Since the fall semester of the 2007-2008 academic year, many students have been sent abroad in accordance with ERASMUS student exchange program. The department is accredited by MUDEK from the date of 30 September 2011. In addition to undergraduate program in Industrial Engineering, M.Sc. program is also carried out in an efficient manner. Considering the vital importance of well-trained human resources in the countrys development and international competitiveness, the department and the faculty make every effort to increase the education quality in undergraduate and graduate program. It ought not be forgotten that well-educated people play an important role in countrys economic, social and cultural development and progression.

Admissions Requirements: Candidates to be accepted to Selçuk University Faculty of Engineering Industrial Engineering Department are expected that they must have graduated from high school or equivalent and also to get enough score for the department in the country wide central University Entrance Exam. The necessary documents for the new students, who have a right to register by the result of central University Entrance Exam, are also announced on the university web site. Moreover, the admission of the students from abroad and non-Turkish citizens are done regarding to the "Selçuk University regulations for admission of students from abroad and non-Turkish citizens on undergraduate and associate degree", which is available in the university web site. In addition to that, students are received through undergraduate transfer and graduate transfer within a certain quota. Requirements of undergraduate transfer and graduate transfer policy can be accessed via the university web site. As it is described in ?Instructions for Undergraduate/Associate Degree Education and Examination documents? the candidates for registering to the Industrial Engineering undergraduate program should not already be registered to another program, plan school having limited quota or distance education undergraduate program.

Recognition of Prior Learning: The orientation commission of our department evaluates students prior education and makes the recognition of it according to the departments curriculum. Admission of undergraduate transfer students, double major and minor program students are done according to the "REGULATION FOR INTER UNIVERSITY TRANSFER IN ASSOCIATE AND BA DEGREE PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR, AND INTER UNIVERSITY CREDIT TRANSFER" terms. TRANSFER IN ASSOCIATE AND BA DEGREE PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR, AND INTER UNIVERSITY CREDIT TRANSFER" terms.

Graduation Requirements: Graduation Requirements: For a student currently enrolled in Industrial Engineering Program to graduate, it is required to take and pass all of the courses and to successfully complete an internship or any other practical implementation envisaged in the curriculum and have at least 2.00/4.00 CGPA.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Principles of evaluation and assessment of Industrial Engineering program are determined by Selcuk University Undergraduate and Graduate Program Education and Examination Regulations.

Employment Opportunities: Industrial Engineering graduates combine the technical knowledge with the aspect that they gain from social sciences as a result of training. Employment opportunities to which our graduates can apply cover a large number of sectors from high-tech manufacturing industry, tourism, banking and insurance services to the health care sector.
