Purpose: The educational objectives are to graduate Electrical&Electronics engineering students with the following: 1. Having knowledge on the diverse fields of electrical and electronics engineering in sufficient width and depth, absorbed his/her knowledge to be able to transform it into design and implementation, to be able to pursue successful careers in major national institutions and companies as well as working on their own workplace, 2. Capable of studying postgraduate education and / or be able to work in R & D, having knowledge to find solutions to the problems in novel contexts, having language ss to follow professional literature and interacting with foreign colleagues and having the ability to use the latest software languages. 3. Continuing a lifelong learning desire, very disciplined and well suited to teamwork, while remaining sensitive to their social responsibilities and professional ethics, capable of communicating effectively, self-confident and enterprising.

Vision: Our department has chosen its vision as educating individuals who aim to reach international standards in undergraduate and graduate education and training, designing original tems by following novelties in their disciplines and being able to compete on a global scale, sensitive to universal values and absorbed professional ethics, use their knowledge and technology for the welfare and happiness of the society.

Mission: As a preferable department by successful university student candidates, Electrical and Electronics Engineering department gives its students the followings with its undergraduate education under engineering discipline in subjects that the society and industry needs:Teaching information access and usage, Giving ability in subjects involving delivering, improving and applying information, Giving ability to participation and contribution to the scientific and social facilities with the multi-disciplinary team approach, By carrying ethical responsibility, placing the awareness of study to improve quality of life in an environment that the technology is developing rapidly in it. And also, as well as undergraduate education, for graduate students, who are among the important shareholders of scientific research and development, the department gives the followings in their fundamental and practical engineering studies that take national and international acceptance: To educate them as certificated engineer and academics specialized in electric and electronics fields, To graduate them as having the s of bringing solutions to problems related with their discipline and making new projects, To educate and guide them in such a manner that they take scientific excellence in universal extent as a measure, To give them self-confident, creative and efficient (oral and written) communication ss. These form the main axis of the mission of our department.

Program Language: Turkish

Program Description: The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Selçuk University was founded in 1987 and it started its first academic activities with 40 undergraduate students in 1987-1988 academic year. The evening education undergraduate program of the department started to accept students in 2010-2011 academic year. The undergraduate program of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is of 4 years duration and the number of students being accepted is about 70-75 per year while this number is approximately 70 for the evening education. In addition, about 20 students are admitted for graduate courses per year. Evening education master degree without thesis program accepts students since the 2005-2006 academic year. The education in our department is pursued in six primary research areas: Electronics, Circuits and Systems, Telecommunications, Electric Machines, Electrical Power Systems, Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques, Control Systems. The research and education activities are maintained with an academic staff consisting of 3 Professors, 8 Associate-Professors, 7 Assistant-Professors, 1 Teaching Assistant Phd., 25 Research Assistants -2 of them have Phd degree-, 1 technician and 1 secretary. Besides the graduate and postgraduate alumni of the department who establish their own consultancy and contractorship firms and that participate in academic activities at domestic and foreign universities, the alumni that work at public establishments offer services at the following areas: * Industrial Electronics * Industrial Automation and Automatic Control Systems * Analog and Digital Circuit Design * Analog and Digital Communication System Design * Biomedical Electronics * Electrical Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution * Electrical Machines * Consultancy services for factories and manufacturing plants. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the engineering branches which takes an important role in the emergence of technological products that improve the quality of life. The need for electrical and electronics engineers in our rapidly growing country will continue to increase in the future for many years.

Admissions Requirements: According to the results of nationwide, central Higher Education Examination (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS), students who have taken sufficient MF-4 exam points can be registered to the department within certain quota. Apart from that the department takes students through undergraduate transfer and graduate transfer. Requirements of undergraduate transfer and graduate transfer policy can be accessed via universitys web page. Those who have achieved to register to the department can register by applying to the facultys student affairs with certificate of registry in announced time. New students who have achieved to register by central examinations should check the universitys web page for announcements and required certificates. Our university also accepts students from abroad and non-Turkish citizens. Recognition of Prior Learning: Our departments orientation commission evaluates students prior education according to the departments curriculum. Admission of undergraduate transfer students, double major and minor program students are done according to "REGULATION FOR INTER UNIVERSITY TRANSFER IN ASSOCIATE AND BA DEGREE PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR, AND INTER UNIVERSITY CREDIT TRANSFER" terms.

Graduation Requirements: Students who pass all courses (240 ECTS in total) and accomplish at least 2.00 CGPA out of 4.00 and complete summer trainings successfully earn Electrical and Electronics Engineering undergraduate degree.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: In our department a student must pass all courses. A students success is based on his mid-term and final/make-up exams which are must according to undergraduate and associate degree education and exam regulations. A students success for a course is graded by sum of 40% of mid-term exam points and 60% of final/make-up exam points. Considering these sum a letter grade is given. For a student to be successful in a course the letter grade need to be at least CC. Points, letter grades and their coefficients are given as following: 90-100 / AA / 4.00, 85-89 / BA / 3.50, 75-84 / BB / 3.00, 70-74 / CB / 2.50, 60-69 / CC / 2.00, 55-59 / DC / 1.50, 50-54 / DD / 1.00, 40-49 / FD / 0.50, 0-39 / FF / 0.00, / F / 0.00. AA, BA, BB, CB, CC: Successful, DC, DD: Successful if GPA is equal to or higher than 2.00 otherwise failed, FD, FF: Failed, F: Failed due to absenteesim, not allowed to enter final/make-up exams.
