Purpose: Program educational objectives are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing graduates to achieve. Graduates can analyze and solve complex problems. Graduates can apply their knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, the humanities and social sciences to analyze and solve complex problems in environmental engineering. Graduates can evaluate, mitigate, and communicate risk. Graduates can use appropriate technologies to formulate effective, context-based courses of action adapt methods and strategies to overcome incomplete or imperfect information and recommend or choose a best course of action. Graduates can creatively adapt problem solving strategies and solutions to rapidly changing situations. Problem solving is not bounded by disciplinary expertise. Graduates can lead, manage, and exe-cute. Graduates can lead people, manage resources and programs, prioritize activities, and ute projects within constraints to successfully complete the mission within the environmental field. Graduates must be able to ute an array of missions efficiently while minimizing environmental impacts. Graduates can effectively communicate. Graduates have the ability to listen to, understand, and assess varying viewpoints and can, based on this assessment, communicate pertinent information to stakeholders and the general public in such a manner as to bridge their differences and strengthen relationships among them. Graduates recognize their roles as professionals. Graduates have internalized their professional responsibilities to society and the practice of engineering. They demonstrate internalization through participation in professional societies, continuing education, successful progression in assignments, community outreach, and other activities.

Vision: Departments vision is providing a program that is reputable and well-known and to have success in national and international arena and to take place in upper levels in environmental engineering education and to access to modernity in order to contribute environmental science and technology standards.

Mission: Our mission is to prepare our students to become professionals equipped with the ability of analytical thinking and problem solving beside knowledge and design skills to succeed in competitive engineering. So, our graduates would be passionate, creative, enterprising and aware of life-time learning, able to use modern instruments in Environmental Engineering practices and a preferred engineer in its area, as individuals engaged with responsability to protect their profession, behaving accordingly to ethical measures, considering health and security.

Program Description: Environmental Engineering Department was founded in 1992, graduated its first graduates in 1996, and has 716 graduates up to date. Evening education started in 2010. Department has total of 624 students as of year 2013. There are many laboratory facilities such as unit processes, environmental chemistry, environmental microbiology, gas chromatography, wastewater analysis and research, wastewater treatment, environmental technology and sciece laboratories. Department is among one of the first accredited engineering departments in Turkey.

Admissions Requirements: Admissions are administered due to nationwide central Higher Education Examination (LYS) scores. Students whose scores are sufficient can be enrolled to the department within certain quota.

Recognition of Prior Learning: Orientation commission evaluates prior education of prospective students considering departments curriculum. Orientation commission evaluates admission of undergraduate transfer students, double major and minor program students.

Graduation Requirements: In order to graduate from undergraduate program of our department, a student should cover departments undergraduate curriculum of 240 ECTS. Two terms of internships are must.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Our department adopts Selcuk University Principles of Measurement and Evaluation System.

Employment Opportunities: According to questionnaire, 85% of graduates have a job who successfully graduated from our undergraduate program. Graduates mainly work in consultancy and design companies as well as ministry and municipal organizations.

Jump to Top Degree Programs: Undergraduate students who complete our department successfully, can pursue graduate degree in Environmental Engineering field or related fields in case having passing score of ALES test exam. Successful student may also study graduate schools abroad in case covering those university requirements.
