Dersin Amacı
|
This course is a wide-ranging introduction to central principles, concepts and processes of international relations. Topics covered
include key theories and concepts of international relations, the issues in global politics, new developments and processes in IR and
the implications for a diverse set of contemporary policy problems. The course emphasizes skill development through written
exercises, class discussion, and team assignments. This course provides students with knowledge of the field of International
Relations (IR). It provides you with the various topics at the introductory level in the discipline: Theories of IR such as Realism,
Liberalism, Constructivism, British School and Normative Theory Core concepts of the discipline, new concepts such as cyberspace,
environment and gender, Peace and Human Rights International security, development and other subjects of IR. To study and
understand this course students need to be ready to think critically and analytically. They need to develop a constructive minds to be
able to evaluate rationally different arguments and be able to determine which arguments is most plausible convincing and why.
Aims
a) To be able to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of international relations.
b) To outline and critically analyze theories and subjects of IR
c) To apply the main theories, and concepts used in the study of IR to the analysis of international developments.
d) To critically evaluate different concepts, principles, theories and events etc.
