Purpose: The programme aims to provide students with essential intellectual profundity, technical ss and artistic vision throughout eight semesters. The primary purpose of the painting department is to educate individuals who are able to identify their own artistic problematiques and accordingly develop their points of view, think analytical, synthesize, move with the contemporary world, put across their artistic problematiques in an artistic way.

Vision: Programmes vision is being an educational institution which is favoured at the international level and leading at the national level, attains both scientific and artistic perfection and leads the way in making the art prevalent and active in the society due to well educated and creative individuals.

Mission: The mission of the programme is to bring up independent, resourceful, innovative individuals who are able to act on the fundamental principles of art, contend at both national and international level, and internalize universal values with a contemporary perception in a broad perspective.

Program Language: Turkish

Program Description: Painting Department consists of four academic years. Throughout the education period, students take the courses from Major Art Programme, Minor Art Programme along with Cultural Courses and Must Courses.

Admissions Requirements: After the pre-registration, students are admitted with the Special Ability Exam with the Higher Education Institutions Examination score announced for the related academic year.

Recognition of Prior Learning: For the students who want to attend Selçuk University Departments of Fine Arts Faculty from higher education institutions in Turkey or other foreign countries via undergraduate transfer, regulations on the undergraduate transfer, Double Major Programme, Minor Programme and Inter-academic Credit Transfer Rules are implemented.

Graduation Requirements: Students must accomplish courses at least 240 ECTS credits until the end of 4 years of education period.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Assessment and evaluation is implemented on the ground of provisions stated in Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Regulations for Education and Examination which is based on Selçuk University Upper Secondary ? Undergraduate Education and Regulations for Examination.

Employment Opportunities: Graduates qualify to be freelance, instructor or painter in the state or private institutions, art consultant through the relationships with galleries and workshops, academician in the institutions related to research and education of fine arts at the end of graduate education . Alumni with pedagogical formation can work as art teacher in the secondary education institutions.
