Purpose: Aim: The fundamental aim of the undergraduate courses in Mathematics Department is to educate pupils with a large perspective, and then expect them to be a mathematics researcher and applicant having an independent acter and self confidence. This will give us an opportunity to become in the place of 500 among whole universities in the world. Targets: The main goal of the undergraduate programme of Mathematics Department is to graduate pupils who can make researches on both different and related fields with mathematics such as software in computer science, finance, economy etc.

Vision: It is planned to be a pioneer department at the international level with qualified scientific papers and projects, academic staffs who permanently renovate and develop themselves and talented to apply the acquired experience to the real life.

Mission: The Department of Mathematics aims to grow up individuals who are sful to prepare scientific papers at the international level and interconnect these ss with other disciplines besides the individuals who are talented to criticize events around themselves and respectful to universal matters.

Program Language: Turkish

Program Description: The department is established at the body of Science Faculty between 1976-1977. During this period, it is supported by some deep-rooted universities such as Ankara University and Middle East Technical University (METU). Nowadays, a lot of instructors graduated from this instution are studying in several universities all over the country. Now, it has 5 Professors, 5 Associated Professors, 7 Assist Professors, 2 Lecturers and 18 research assistants. It carries on its education activities at Alâeddin Keykubat Campus.

Admissions Requirements: To whom it may want to register to the department has to passed the exams that made by ÖSYM (Turkish Government, Student Selection, Assessment and Placement Center) in the meaning of the legal and lawful rules of Selcuk University. A pupil cannot transfer from local or overseas universities to the mathematics department unless he/she does not satisfy the registration conditions. An overseas student who came to Selcuk University by any Exchange Programme can be followed the English courses that given by the related departments. However, if this student is good at Turkish language, then he/she can choose a Turkish course filled in Course Plans.

Recognition of Prior Learning: There is no regulation related with the previous education tem in mathematics programme.

Graduation Requirements: To be graduated from Mathematics Undergraduate Programme, pupil must have passed from all core courses as well as adequate number of elective courses. The grade point average must be at least 2.00 over 4.00. Moreover, these all passed courses must have ACDT Credits.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: The marking and assessment tem for each course has been defined clearly in ?Course Teaching Plan?.

Employment Opportunities: Although the alumnies can be taught in primary, secondary and high schools, they can be consultant in private education schools, banks and insurance sector. Moreover, they make career by using their computer software knowledge. Additionally, they of course choose to attend Ms.C and Ph.D studies.

Jump to Top Degree Programs: Although the most successful alumnies can continue to Ms.C and Ph.D programmes in the department, they can apply these programmes in to other areas.
