Alaeddin Mosque









Alaeddin Mosque The mosque is the oldest of all the works of Konya Seljuk Period and it was built on Alaeddin Hill. It’s construction started during the reign of the Seljuk Sultan Rukneddin Mesut I (1116-1156), and it was finished during the reign of Alaeddin Keykubad I (1221).














The Seljuk Mansion









The Seljuk Mansion It was built during the reign of Sultan Kiliç Aslan II (1156-1192) and it was repaired and expanded during the reign of Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad II. Its other name is Alaeddin Mansion. The walls of the mansion which was built having two storeys, were decorated with patterns of encaustic tiles.















Sahip Ata Külliyesi (Külliye: A Group Of Buildings)









Sahip - Ata Külliyesi It was built by one of Anatolian Seljuk Viziers (whose work was to help the Sultan like ministers today), Sahip Ata Fahrettin, between 1258 and 1283. Its architect was Abdullah Kellük. Küllye is composed of a mausoleum, dervish monastery (Hankah) and a Turkish bath.










Sırçalı Medresseh (Medresseh: Muslim Theological Schools)









Sırçalı Medresseh It is a type of a medresseh with an open courtyard. It was built by Emir Muhlis Bedrettin in 1242 during the reign of the Seljuk Sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhusrev II, in order to teach Muslim Jurisprudence (Fikih)










Karatay Medresseh









Karatay Medresseh The medresseh was built by Celaleddin Karatay, in 1251, during the reign of the Seljuk Sultan Izetiin Keykavus. In the medresseh the theological learning such as Hadis (record of a saying or action of the prophet Mohammad), Tefsir (commentary on Koran) Usul (bases of the law of Islam) and Furu were taught.
