Purpose: To graduate individuals who are determined to preserve and develop Turkish language, literature and culture, are able to generate scientific information, follow national and international developments in their field, are ready for post-graduate studies and have adopted the principle of lifelong learning and teaching.

Vision: To be among influential academic institutions both at home and abroad with students having knowledge, ss and experience in their relevant field, and by virtue of educational activities and scientific studies.

Mission: To graduate students who are well-versed in Turkish language, literature and culture, have mastered scientific research techniques, are ready to conduct post-graduate studies and assume posts in educational acitivities.

Program Language: Turkish

Program Description: The program consists of five departments, namely Old Turkish Literature, Modern Turkish Literature, Old Turkish Language, Modern Turkish Language and Turkish Folklore. Courses are conducted in 8 semesters. The program has Day and Evening programs.

Recognition of Prior Learning: Recognition of former education in Turkish Higher Education institutions vertical, lateral and intercollegiate transfers are fulfilled according to regulation, defined by Council of Higher Education, which is related to transfers between associate and post-graduate degree and credit transfers between double major and minor programs. In Turkey except for formal education institutions, recognition process of informal and non-formal education which is based upon certificate or experiment is still on the onset. For that reason, recognition of former education has not been started completely.

Employment Opportunities: Academic posts at universities. Teaching at schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (If one has a pedagogical formation certificate). Teaching in the relevant field at private institutions of education.
