Purpose: It is intended to train technicians who digested basic and physical principles, covered working principles of domestic and industrial installation tems and equipment, had the ability of choosing, installing and uting the tems and their components, had the ability of maintanence and fixing the working tems, had the experience of capability to take part in preparing work, design, installation, maintanence and fixing departments including quality assurance.

Vision: The vision of the Department of Electricity and Energy is to raise staff who accepted scientific developments as a guide, highly-qualified, who loves his country and his profession, aimed science and technology at transforming our country and for the benefit of humanity, know how to think, how to learn, how to investigate, how to questioning, equipped with competing in both national and international fields, equipped with contemporary information, capable of making research, contributing to the needs of the sector dominated by adopting the information age.

Mission: This program intends to train technicians having the following requirements: *Have knowledge and consciousness about the Principles of Atatürk and the History of the Turkish Revolution. *Have a good command of Turkish language. *Capable of using vocational mathematics. *Have an intermediate level of English. *Having knowledge of technical drawing, capable of drawing and reading projects and flow ts of natural gas, heating and plumbing tems. *Capable of using Computer Aided Design ( CAD ) and component ion softwares used for design of natural gas, heating and plumbing tems. *Capable of reading and implementing electrical/electronics circuit diagrams of natural gas, heating and plumbing control tems. *Capable of planning of natural gas, heating and plumbing tems and making basic design calculations. *Recognize the basic components of natural gas, heating and plumbing tems and capable of ion and assembling relevant to the manufacturer specifications. *Capable of making electrical, thermal and mechanical measurements in the field of natural gas, heating and plumbing.

Program Language: Turkish

Program Description: Associate program within the period of 2 years and consists of four semesters. Total of at least 60 weeks to 15 weeks of education provided. Each student has an obligation to join probation activity for each year with 30 day period.

Admissions Requirements: Candidates are to have high school diploma and enough score from YGS-Higher Education Transition Examination. While vocational school graduates are placed without examination high school graduates are placed with theYGS-1 score.

Recognition of Prior Learning: After Student Selection and Placement Centers exam result, students placed at Selcuk University are registered with their certificates which they get from secondary school institutions. If students who are newly registered to one of the Faculty/School programs have succeeded certain courses in any other higher education institution before, they can apply for exemption within fifteen days after the semester when they register to the program. Students requests of exemption are evaluated and their course grades are determined by the administrative committee of the university in a week following their application. Lateral transfers to the associate degree programs and the bachelors degree programs of our university, and admission of the students registered at the programs of our university to the dual programs and the minor programs are carried out in accordance with the higher education regulation for transfers among associate degree programs, bachelors degree programs, dual programs and minor programs, and credit transfer among institutions.

Graduation Requirements: In order to graduate from Department of Electricity and Energy and to get the title of technician and associate degree, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (totally equivalent to120 ECTS) and internship in 60 working days.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Measurement and evaluation principles Selcuk University Undergraduate and Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are carried out according to the provisions. Accordingly, students must register for classes at the ning of each period and join at least %70 of lessons and %80 of application lessons. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. Success grade, midterm exams (midterm homework notes , laboratory exams, the scores obtained from measuring tools such as quizzes, etc. can be evaluated ) contribution %40 and final exam contribution is %60. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. A student which is gained AA , BA, BB , CB and CC degree considered successful in that course. DC and DD are conditional success. DC and DD weighted grade student to be successful in a course which must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average .

Employment Opportunities: Graduates of the Natural Gas and Installation Technology Program are employed in the natural gas sector firms producing goods/services, industrial companies producing heating and chimney tems, natural gas distribution companies and heat centers. There is a big employment potential in our region and in the energy sector which is active near our region.
