Purpose: To train staff who are needed by accounting and finance sector, who are well-versed in the issues of uniform t of accounts, finance and financial legislation, who can use the accounting package programs efficiently and who can easily adapt to practice in the field of accounting.

Vision: Our vision is to train human resource which is conforming not only to national but also to universal values and international professional standards and which is vocationally competent, through the knowledge it produces, the quality of service and education it provides.

Mission: To close the gap of intermediate staff who have the quality and quantity needed by business world in professional fields, to train qualified and sed members of profession required by our country in this field and to make every effort necessary for achieving the best in education.

Program Description: Accounting and tax applications program is a four-semester higher education program which aims to educate qualified intermediate staff who can take responsibility in the accounting departments of the enterprises and counting houses of the state institutions and organizations and / or who can and run their own business after satisfying the legal requirements.

Admissions Requirements:

Recognition of Prior Learning: Students enrolled in Accounting and Tax Applications may be exempt from some courses within certain regulations. Provided that the content and credit of the courses taken from another institution are in conformity with the content of the course in this program, the student may be exempted from that course.

Graduation Requirements: The program period is 4 semesters (2 years). Passing all the courses available and achieving at least 2.00 CGPA are required in order to complete the program successfully. In addition, 30+30-work-day training course must be completed successfully.

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: All the students have to register for the courses at the ning of each term, and have to join at least % 70 off all the courses and % 80 off all the practices in order to be able to have final exams. The students have at least 1 mid. term exam and final exam for each course. The mid. term. exam contributes %40 and the final exam contributes %60 to total grade. All the exams are assessed over 100 scoring tem. The students who get one of the letter Marks such as ( AA ), ( BA ), ( BB ), ( CB ), and ( CC ) are accepted to achieve the course. The letter Marks such as (DC) AND (DD) mean conditionally successful. Moreover, a student is required to get at least 2.0 Great Point Average ( GPA ) in order to be successful in the course whose work is ( DC ) or ( DD ). To be succesful in a course, the letter grade received must be at least CC. The instructor may level down the necessary point for CC letter grade. Students should repeat any course that they couldn't pass.

Employment Opportunities: Our graduates can work in public accountant offices, relevant departments of foreign trade and financial institutions, accounting services of commercial enterprises and all kinds of institutions' relevant departments of financial affairs. The members of the profession who can perform an application beside the theoretical knowledge in order to carry out the service and production activities in the public and private sector efficiently, who has accounting legislation and who can carry out computerized accounting, can easily find jobs in public and private sector. They can work in accounting offices, accounting departments of the businesses, various units of the Ministry of Finance and especially tax authorities. Graduates of the program work as an assistant staff particularly in the public accountant, financial consultant and certified public accountant offices. Moreover, graduates can work as accounting staff in the banks, insurance companies, building societies, tourism and industrial companies. Most of the students are generally offered to remain in the establishments where they did their internship and they get into the job continuously.

Jump to Top Degree Programs: On condition that the graduates of the program get a sufficient score from the Vertical Transition Exam, they will be able to continue 4-year undergraduate programs determined by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) as part of the relevant legislation of the Council of Higher Education(YÖK). They may also apply to the education faculty that they can proceed to without examination.
